The ANCHOR Program is for Town of Hempstead Residents Only. The ANCHOR program continues its winter and spring programming with a varied and enriched schedule of recreational activities on weeknights and Saturdays. Developmentally disabled residents five years of age and older are eligible to participate. Specific times and locations of ANCHOR programs are announced in the participant calendar.

The ANCHOR weekday programs are designed to develop socialization skills, improve self image and integrate the participant into the community. Diverse recreational programs such as bowling, swimming, fitness, sports, drama workshop and Club ANCHOR for teens and adults are offered to participants on weekdays after school and in the evenings.
